1-2-GO Mode of Action

1-2-GO brings you cognitive benefits from the synergistic combination of Caffeine and L-Theanine.  The L-theanine, a calming amino acid found in green tea, helps lessen many of the unwanted side effects associated with caffeine without losing caffeine’s legendary focus!

We added an extra boost of natural feel-good Theobromine (a mildly stimulating and pleasurable compound present in chocolate) to round out this formula.  It’s part of the group of compounds known as methylxanthines, like caffeine, which act on adenosine receptors in the brain, but at only a tenth of caffeine’s strength.  This little-known compound accounts for roughly 250 mg of a standard 40 g dark chocolate bar (7)(8)(9). 

Caffeine and Theobromine are found together naturally in cocoa, cacao, and chocolate; while the combination of Caffeine, Theobromine and L-Theanine can be found in some teas (1).

The cognitive benefits associated with the Caffeine and L-Theanine combination were based on 50 mg caffeine to 100 mg L-Theanine.  Our formula is based on a ratio of 1-part caffeine to 2 parts L-Theanine (6).

1-2-GO Dosage

Pure Nootropics’ 1-2-GO provides 390 mg of a proprietary blend of L-Theanine, Theobromine, and Caffeine per 1 capsule. Suggested use for adults is 1 capsule by mouth not more than every 4-6 hours, not to exceed more than 4 capsules in 24 hours.

1-2-GO Side Effects

This formula contains caffeine which is known to cause side effects and interactions with medications and some herbs.  Please use responsibly and avoid if you are sensitive to caffeine. L-Theanine has GRAS status by the U.S. F.D.A. but may possibly reduce blood pressure and interactions could occur with some blood pressure medications, herbs, or other supplements. If you are taking any medications, herbs, or supplements, please consult your healthcare practitioner before beginning use of a supplement.

Please keep 1-2-GO out of the reach of curious pets.  If accidental ingestion by a pet occurs, please seek veterinary attention immediately.  Theobromine, as the ingredient in chocolate which makes chocolate harmful to pets, is very toxic to dogs because they metabolize it so slowly. While they can experience theobromine poisoning, humans can consume normal quantities of theobromine safely (13).
