Berberine has been recognized for many benefits, but until the active metabolite of Dihydrobeberine (DHB) was isolated, the absorption was very poor. Why GlucoVantage®?
Berberine is broken down by the digestive system into its active metabolite, dihydroberberine, before any berberine can be utilized or absorbed by the body. GlucoVantage® bypasses this conversion and supplies only the active metabolite which the body, helping reduce the digestive distress that may accompany supplementation with berberine-only supplements. By using the active metabolite straight away, it also reduces the amounts of capsules needed and reduces the size of capsules needed (2).*
